My beads from A
drienne Campbell, who is my partner in the bead soup swap. I think she knows how I like working with greens and I love rainforest jasper. I will have fun making a necklace with my swap beads. Its funny because I sent her greens too. Please stop by and take a look at Adrienne’s blog, she just had surgery on her hand. Hope you are having a fast recovery Adrienne
I will be making my bead soup party necklace and the post early and setting it to publish on the 10th. Because I will be on vacation in Tucson. I am excited about getting to go again.
Be sure and check all the bead soup party blogs on Feb. 10th and see what everyone made. To see all blogs participating see Lori Anderson’ s blog
And some fun things I made

Czech glass and handforged sterling silver disks.

Connector bead from Lisa Peters, egg shaped clay beads from NKP beads and the lampwork glass disks from Blue Seraphin. All on brown leather with sterling silver hook and chain.

I made a mixed media collage for my Daddy for Fathers Day.
The 1st picture is after I had put together what Iwas going to use and had it ready for paint. I used a stretched canvas for this project.

I used a letter my Father had mailed to his family when in the navy, a news paper clipping from 1954 about the Kearsage ( the ship he was on) and some post marks from letters he had mailed home ( one from the Kearsage). Then I painted and decorated the canvas. After I finished I rapped some leather around one end and did some lacing or knots on the leather. I am very happy with the results, I wish the photos would have turned out better but you can get an idea of what it looks like.

The girls each made there own art on our project day. They both did a great job.

New Leather Jewelry
I used a connector on the bracelet and little earring charms from LeAnne at Summers Studio Pottery.I love the beads from LeAnn, so much fun to work with. I had so many ideas couldn’t decide what to do but the leather was my first choice. Hope you enjoy my little jewelry photos and remember you can go to my photostream to see larger.

For the Get Excited and make things; I am excited!!! These connectors will be so much fun to work with.
Thank you so much Erin, I love them.

KU / K -State Honor Banquet Photos
first: Laina and second: Laina with her Mom and Dad. I took some other pictures but they didn’t turn out. So you don’t get to see Steven and I with Laina or the other kids in Laina’s class. We are proud of her! We are proud of all our nieces and nephew. Nico will graduate from high school on May 9th and Taylor from College on May 16th. It’ a big year!
A new bracelet I made last night. I really like the ruby quartz, they are a pretty red color and reds are so hard to find.

This afternoon I made a new set of jewelry using some pretty little leaves from Erin at Every Heart Crafts and her Etsy shop . I think the set has a Mission or Arts and Crafts look to it. The chain was bought as a bright copper, I used liver of sulfur to patina it and I love the way it turned out. I also used some jade beads with the copper on the bracelet and necklace. It was so much fun to work with the little leaves from Erin.

I have worked more with blue lately than usual. The blue gray color of this porcelain pendant from Mellisa at Chinook jewelry is beautiful. The color is blue charcoal and it looks great with the 2 different kynites and the pearls. I also used some Swarovski crystals, sterling silver, seed beads and Hilltribe Thai silver flower. I will add to my etsy shop tonight.

Weekend laundry on the farm
Just another blue picture I thought was fun

I love this little charm; it reminds me of our dog Annie. Steve found her in town lost and very hungry. The night he brought her home she looked so sad and old. But it didn’t take long and she fell in love with us (especially Steve ) as did we with her. That is the story behind why I had to have the lost and found charm. I bought it from Beth at Hint jewelry; she has so many charms I would love to have. You can see Beth’s charms at her Etsy shop.
