Art day with Kelvie
She made a tote out of a old rag rug and it was so much fun. She saw a picture of a recycled bag and loved the idea that everything was found our reused. We went through old scrapes of fabric old buttons and yarn, what a fun project.

The 1st project she made was mixed media art. She wanted to use butterflies and the colors she liked were the greens and blues so that was our start. Look what she made!!! What a great job.
My nieces are so much fun. I love all kinds of art and sewing projects with all of them.

On Friday after Thanksgiving Taylor ask me to help her make a collage for her Dad for Christmas. They had been to the Paul McCartney concert and she thought it would be fun to make him something with all the memorabilia she had collected. Laina thught it would be fun, as long as her cousin was making one she would too. We all had a lot of fun and I think both projects turned out great. The girls did a wonderful job.

Taylor wanted a tablecloth for her new apartment so Grandma helped her make one. A special one, they went to Hobby Lobby and picked out the perfect fabric.

My Mother and My niece

They made a beautiful tablecloth.
Wish I could have been there, it would have been fun.

Now to my practice pages for Martha’s class.
I have only had time to take lesson 1 and practice. Here are some of my practice pages. I would like to get to lesson 2 this weekend BUT I do have family arriving tomorrow ( my sister and niece) and my house is a mess, so I better get busy. Or I could just have my sister clean when she gets here. OMG what a good idea.
Be sure and check my Saturday pictures on my other Blog
As always you can go to my flickr photostream to view the pictures larger

I made a mixed media collage for my Daddy for Fathers Day.
The 1st picture is after I had put together what Iwas going to use and had it ready for paint. I used a stretched canvas for this project.

I used a letter my Father had mailed to his family when in the navy, a news paper clipping from 1954 about the Kearsage ( the ship he was on) and some post marks from letters he had mailed home ( one from the Kearsage). Then I painted and decorated the canvas. After I finished I rapped some leather around one end and did some lacing or knots on the leather. I am very happy with the results, I wish the photos would have turned out better but you can get an idea of what it looks like.

The girls each made there own art on our project day. They both did a great job.

We are proud of her! We are proud of all our nieces and nephew. Nico will graduate from high school on May 9th and Taylor from College on May 16th. It’ a big year!
A new bracelet I made last night. I really like the ruby quartz, they are a pretty red color and reds are so hard to find.

The chocolate Eclair Dessert recipe is from Carmen Stauth.
Carmen is one of our Kiowa county extension agents, she made it for the ladies luncheon last week and it was a big hit. So, the pictures are my try at the Eclair and it was really easy and fun (as you can see from Ellie’s picture) to make.
Chocolate Eclair Dessert
Mix together
3 packages French Vanilla pudding
3 cups milk
Let set up about half way and then add 9 oz Cool Whip. Set aside
Layer uncrushed graham crackers in bottom of 9X13 pan
Layer ½ of the filling. Layer crackers. Layer filling.
Make the following frosting and put over dessert when dessert is set up
2 squares chocolate ( I used unsweetened baking chocolate squares)
2 cups powdered sugar
Pinch salt
3 tablespoons melted oleo
3 tablespoons white corn syrup
2 tablespoons milk
I melted the oleo in the microwave with the chocolate squares for about 30 sec. then mix till the chocolate was melted. add the milk and syrup and microwave for about 30 sec. longer. Add the powdered sugar, mix well and put over top of dessert. Very easy and VERY GOOD.
Thanks Carmen for shearing you recipe with all of us.
New set of jewelry

I LOVE THE GREEN
The green floral porcelain on the necklace and earrings is from Nancy at Round Rabbit Extra, I love the antique look of the little button shaped beads. The green squares are kynite and I have used pearls and seed beads. The leaf charm is Hilltribe Thai silver
A fun new set that looks like spring.
