My bead partner Christine Hendrickson of The Clay Chick, sent me a fun assortment of beads. The dark brown ceramic ones Christine made herself
I added very few beads to what she sent. I did add some brass beads for a mix of silver and brass and a silk ribbon of recycled silk. I made a brass hook for the necklace and used the silver toggle Christina sent in the bracelet. I didn’t use the coin shaped shell beads from my soup but have a few ideas of what I am going to do with them.

Just a few new things and a project with Laina.
We started by printing a picture of Laina, from the school play, on muslin. This was fun to layer and sew on fabric, buttons and ribbon.

Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party!
What is a Bead Soup Blog Party?
Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the following:
A focal
A special clasp (not just a lobster claw)
Some coordinating spacers or beads
Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory, but we could use anything from
our own stash to round out the rest, and choose to use the coordinating
beads or not.
Here’s my soup mix from Carola
Here’s what I made!
I have had a great time working with Carola’ s beads!!!
The only beads I have added are some onyx and hammered copper round links I made. I love it. I hadn’t planed to use silk but it was on my workbench and I couldn’t resist, it just had to be. I had extra beads, so made a bracelet and earrings to match.
This is the first time I have worked with polymer clay and it was great fun.

Remember the shawlette I received from my secret Santa???
WELL, have a look at the new shawletts Mo has in her etsy shop. They are beautiful!!! Maureen’s knitting is top of the line. She also has a bits N Pieces shop with Irish lace (Mo is from Dublin), buttons, knitting needles and more.

I bought Kerry’s book Totally Twisted some time ago, really fun book.
The book will put you in a good mood just to look through the pages, it’s so colorful
I was going to make all kinds of thing with wire, but haven’t.
I did make this necklace last weekend and used amethyst colored wire, Nan Emmett pendant and Gaea beads.
Had lots of fun!!!

Look what came in the mail, all the way from Dublin Ireland. So beautiful!!! Handknit scarf-let by Mo Murray. Mo has a etsy shop–Huggle knits be sure and stop by to see all her lovely accessories.
My pictures are not the best and don’t show how awesome her knitting is. I just can’t wait to wear my new scarf. Thank you so much Mo!!!

Special Gift For A Friend

A special gift for Phyllis
I started working on the parts for this necklace a few months ago, and just finished in time for Christmas.
When Linda came to visit in October we worked with resin, different patinas and I played with the pictures on copper.
It was so much fun and some of them turned out great.
This is what I ended up with, mixed metals, pearls, Czech glass and lampwork from Blue Seraphim.
(I hope she loves it)
Also I found the key chains at Onlyee on etsy.
